Douglas Hughes

Financial Consultant

Doug Hughes joined the Comprehensive Financial Consultants Team in July 2003 and is the Vice President of Comprehensive Financial Consultants and an investment consultant. Doug's primary responsibility is overseeing client accounts and helping to shape their savings for the future.

A big believer in creating financial freedom for oneself, he concentrates on creating this for his clients so they can feel confident in their financial situation. Doug prides himself on being available to his clients and aims to provide premier service regardless of their wealth. To that end, he will make sure he is informed about a client's investments and will often take part in several continuing education courses offered throughout the year to stay up to date on industry trends.

A strong believer in the power of education, Hughes co-hosts classes at Ivy Tech Community that are geared towards financial readiness for retirement. These classes simplify complex concepts so that the average person preparing to retire can fully understand their options. He was also a visiting lecturer at Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs, teaching courses on personal finances.

A native of Bloomington, Indiana, Doug Hughes received his bachelor’s degree in Theology from Indiana Bible College. After graduation, Doug began working in the financial services industry. His first two years were served as an office administrator, and then he began working as an investment broker.

Doug continues educating team members at several local organizations, businesses, and non-profit groups, including Baxter Pharmaceuticals, Duke Energy, IU Continuing Studies and the Girl Scouts of America. Doug has been, and continues to be, heavily involved with a local affiliate of Business Network International, since joining in 2001.

Hughes is married to his wife Terri, with whom he shares one child, Daniel, born in 2004. Together they are members of the Family Life Worship Center where Doug also volunteers by providing financial education seminars to the congregation. In his free time, Doug is an avid fisherman and reader, enjoys traveling on cruises with his wife, Terri, and frequents art galleries and museums both locally and during his travels.
