The Tax Season Cometh

The Tax Season Cometh

December 29, 2025

While the holiday season - and 2025 - begin to close out, we know some of you are eager to get started on your tax filing in January.

Earlier in December, on the Question-and-Answer show on Your Money with David Hays, David answered the question "How soon will I receive my tax forms in January?"

Patience is key, as it takes time for every calculation to be made, reviewed, checked and double-checked. No one wants to file early and then discover a tax statement was incorrect and the entire tax preparation needs redone.

Some important dates for 2026:

  • January 15 - Fourth-quarter 2025 estimated tax payments due
  • January 26 - Anticipated date for IRS to begin accepting tax returns
  • January 31 - W-2 Forms and 1099-R forms are due
  • March 15 - Anticipated final mailing date for consolidated 1099 statements; K-1 statements due
  • April 15 - Tax Day; Last day to file an extension; Last day to make an IRA contribution for 2025

We'll have more information in the coming months as tax dates are updated. You can always learn more on our website in the Tax Resources section
